What have you heard about The Philippines?
Because we hadn’t heard much. But let’s clear a few things up:
Not only did we feel completely safe, we never even got ripped off. The people are in the running for the friendliest in the world. They’re dynamic, lively, and extremely open. And because many speak English, you can have a multitude of meaningful interactions.
The food, on the other hand, isn’t the reason to book your ticket. Although it’s truly cheap, along with everything else. This is the best-value country we’ve explored in Southeast Asia, and the diving is worth every last peso. Plus, the snorkeling won’t cost you a cent.
One thing is for sure: the country isn’t simply for honeymooners.
